Jim Sartain, President
James (Jim) Sartain is a national speaker, trainer, and writer with twenty-five years of leadership experience with a background in program design, research and evaluation, technical writing and leadership development. Jim takes a scholar-practitioner approach to his work with faith-based institutions and corporations. He blends empirical findings and best practices with an accessible presentation style to challenge thinking, and help facilitate new insights and innovations. Jim has provided workshops and presentations on leadership topics including strategic thinking and problem solving, creative strategic planning, effective communications, and developing high performance teams. He also serves as an executive coach to senior leadership in a variety of corporate settings. As of 2011, Jim has successfully written over $692 million in successful local, regional, state and federal grants.
Jim has served for several years at the executive leadership level of a variety of not-for-profit, for-profit and faith-based organizations. He has served as President of JSA, Inc., a research and technical writing firm in the Tampa Bay area for ten years. He also worked for eleven years as a senior executive with Eckerd Youth Alternatives, Inc., a large child-caring agency serving troubled youth. He is the co-founder and one of the principal partners of CODA Partners, Inc., a leadership and organizational development professional services firm headquartered in Gulfport, Florida. Over the past five years, Jim has also served as an administrator of a large Baptist Church in central Florida—which has augmented his practice with faith-based institutions.
Jim holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Bowling Green State University and an MBA from Nova Southeastern University and is completing a PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Capella University. Jim’s recent research and writing focus has targeted leadership self-identity and effective pedagogy for executive leadership development.
